Now that I'm finally getting settled into Louisville it's time to find people to play games with. Is anyone interested in coming over to my place to play games or alternatively interested in joining a D&D campaign to be started after the first of the year?|
Ideally we'd be looking at a weeknight for board gaming, maybe Wednesday night around 7:30-ish so people have the ability to do dinner beforehand. We'll have snacks and if you want to bring some feel free. Kids are welcome as we have three of our own (ages 4, 4, 6).
As far as the D&D game, we'd do character gen before the new year and then plan on playing bi-weekly on Saturday nights starting the first Saturday in January (the 6th). Games would start around 9pm and again, kids are more than welcome to come along. For this game we're looking at no more than four additional players since we currently have three who have committed.
Any questions, let me know
I have no interest in D&D (or any role playing), but am interested in board games. However, Wednesday night doesn't work because we go to church on Wednesday nights (UU church). Occasional Mondays would be good (we'd be kid-free) or Thursdays. Most Tuesdays don't work for me either. How's that for being a pain? ;)
I just picked Wednesday because I find it's easier to specify a day rather than leaving it open ended because no one can ever agree on anything if it's left open ended.
That said if there is a day that would be better for you guys I'm ok with that, just let me know.
Probably would be good to wait til after the holidays for us, just because it's going to be so hectic this month. Mondays or Thursdays would probably be best for us, though there are still two Mondays a month when we won't be able to go (1st and 2nd Mondays of the month), and I dobut we'd want to come every single week (well, *want, probably, be able to, probably not reasonably).
On a similar note, my husband darkwolf69
and I will be restarting our games night pretty soon. We're going to do them every other Saturday night (this works well for several of the "regulars" who used to come when we had them a couple of years ago), and you all are welcome to come to those. We also have kids, and it seems to work well for the kids to play in our girls' room. Our house is small, so it does get a little chaotic (esp. when one or more of the kids want mommy/daddy and nothing else will do), but overall it's a lot of fun.
You can email me at my lj email if you want more information. I'll probably also post it in a new post here when we know for sure *which* Saturday we'll be starting on.
There's a Board Games Meetup
the second Sunday of each month, too. I hear they're a nice bunch of folks! :)
Thanks for the info, however I'm guessing that the folks at the meetup would not take kindly to a 6 year old and a pair of 4 year old twins tagging along and being new in town babysitting is not a realistic option (basically as the frequency with which we could arrainge a babysitter is going to be so low for the forseeable future that should one appear we're going to use it for a date night and not going to go play games)
